Welcome to my website!  I'm Heather L. Montgomery, author of children's articles and books on science and nature. 





As a naturalist, I love to explore the world around me.  As a teacher, I love to share my passion for bugs, rocks and running water.  As an author I get to do both!

Heather will be presenting "PAL Intensive: Researching and Writing Great Nonfiction" and "The Educational Market - Your Path to Publication" at the SCBWI, Carolinas Fall Conference on September 24-26, 2010.

"Writing in the Real World: Work-for-Hire to Pay Your Bills" and "Natural Inspirations:A Hands-on Minds-on Workshop" will both be presented by Heather at the SCBWI, Southern Breeze Conference, Writing and Illustrating for Kids, October 15-16, 2010.
